With AI-generated music reported to be “flooding” streaming platforms, a new initiative is said to be giving artists and listeners a way to identify music made by real people. After recent news that a fictional artist charted in the US on the Billboard chart
Jazz Is Dead has become the face of “Played By Humans”, a free verification platform that aims to authenticate music made by human artists and introduces a “Played By Humans” stamp for verified tracks.
The tool is said to allow artists and labels to prove the authenticity of their work, while fans can upload songs to check whether they were created by humans or AI.
Jazz Is Dead’s co-founder Adrian Younge, comments: “Importantly, the project isn’t anti-AI – it’s about transparency and celebrating human creativity in an increasingly AI-dominated music landscape”.
