The Maine: Pretender…

 

 

Arizona Alt. Rock band, The Maine, drop their new single “Pretender” and a lyric video, plus announcing “Face Towards The Sun” live stream concert happening at 7PM PT/10PM ET on 7/11/21.

 

“Pretender” is the fourth single from The Maine’s upcoming eighth studio LP, “XOXO: From Love And Anxiety In Real Time”, due for 9th July release July 9, 2021 via Photo Finish Recordsin partnership with their 8123.

 

“Pretender” leans more into the “rock” of “pop-rock” than the previous singles from the imminent new album, while maintaining the “catchiness and danceability” of the other songs. The lyric video gives viewers a glimpse into the writing and recording process of the new record.

 

The band’s first single from the new long player, “Sticky”, has risen to #19 on Billboard’s Alternative chart. Since “Sticky”, The Maine have been putting out new music including “April 7” and most recently “Lips”. The songs have amassed over nine million streams.

 

The Maine will head out on tour alongside All Time Low, Movements, Grayscale, and Destroy Boys, on the “Sad Summer” Festival. The US band has toured and performed at festivals worldwide – including the UK’s monster Reading and Leeds Festiv,als as well as headlining two of their own sold-out festivals in their hometown totaling over ten thousand tickets sold.

 

The Maine is John O’Callaghan (lead vocals, piano, rhythm guitar), Kennedy Brock (guitar, back-up vocals), Jared Monaco (lead guitar), Garrett Nickelsen (bass), and Pat Kirch (drums, percussion).
