Tilly Valentine: Back in 2018, some eight years ago, this magazine was very early doors to discover the delights of unique ex-BRIT school student Tilly Valentine, direct from the artist herself. We tipped her for success way before other media and tastemakers.
Music Republic Magazine has been a big supporter ever since and we ran an “Undiscovered” Q&A feature with Tilly in July 2018 – naming her as one to watch.
In our end of year “Best Of 2018” feature, we named Tilly’s fabulous song “Coins” as our choice for best music video of that year.
Plus we plugged her super single “Fit For A King” and ran the official video for it in November 2019. Also that year she was a “Hot Contender” for our best female artist of the year.
We covered Tilly’s excellent debut EP, “Nothing Left To Say” in November 2020. She has also dropped three more EPs: “Half Full/Half Empty”, “The Way To Heal”, and “Cupid Killer”, a few more singles and the compilation album “Body Language”.
Since we got behind a then unknown Tilly eight years ago, she has notched up more than 50M streams and picked up support from BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra and BBC 6Music.
Now we bring you her infectious just-released new single “Taxi Ride” – co-written with Kaity Rae and Joe Dolman – and its official video. The song was penned for Tilly’s best friend when she was going through a tough period in her life. Tilly and her pal both appear in the video.
