Leba Hibbert, singer, songwriter, record producer and daughter of the late and legendary Frederick “Toots” Hibbert is now lead singer of the new look Toots and the Maytals band, vowing to keep her pioneering father’s legacy alive.
Their 19-date UK tour in May 2026 will do just that; by performing songs from his extensive catalogue of global hits as well as songs from her own catalogue.
As an artist in her own right, Leba has spent many years performing on stages around the world and with with her dad – the man who first used the word “Reggae” – and she has recorded with numerous reggae acts, including Jimmy Cliff & Lebo M, on the soundtrack of the movie “Lion King.”
Leba performed on Sly and Robbie’s 1999 Grammy-winning album,”Friends”, Toots and The Maytals’ 2005 Grammy-winning album “True Love”, and she also featured on the 2020 Grammy-winning album, “Got to Be Tough”.

Leba has had chart topping tracks: “Natty Dread”, “Jamaica” and “Ragga Soul Jah”, and released her first EP, “Into The Lights”, in November 2023, which was produced by Sly & Robbie and High Power Records. This follows her debut self-produced album “Intoxicated”, released in 2010.
In 1989, the duo known as 5446,which comprised of Leba and her Sister Melanie Hibbert, topped several charts worldwide with the tracks “Ooh La La”, and “Never Get To Heaven”.
