South Africa’s Dan Patlansky: Track Record…

Bruce Springsteen is a fan…

Award-winning South African blues-rock guitarist Dan Patlansky’s new album “Movin’ On” is a blistering 10-track solid gold winner – due for release 1st March – where his breathtaking guitar playing catches fire one minute and is so sensitive and beautifully restrained the next.

It is sure to whet the appetite of UK blues fans ahead of his eight-date tour in April [see all tour dates further down the page.]

He was here in May 2023 and sold out most gigs, performing tracks from his 2022 studio album “Shelter Of Bones”, alongside brand new tracks written for “Movin’ On”.

That tour coincided with the sixth anniversary of his debut UK headline tour of April/May 2017, after a triumphant opening slot to guitar hero Joe Satriani’s UK tour. He returned in 2016 with British blues rockers King King for a run of dates, as well as a few gigs of his own.

Before long, he would be back to these shores to join Joanne Shaw Taylor and then Walter Trout for their UK appearances.

2024 is the 10th anniversary of his breakthrough long player  ‘Dear Silence Thieves”, which blasted Dan onto the international blues scene with a bang. His 11th album, “Movin’ On” is offering some of the same incendiary Steve Ray Vaughan-flavoured rockin’ blues that will delight guitar fans…

But also the songs on this record have much light and shade to tone things down between the more in yer face, rambunctious stuff. Dan’s songwriting should not be underestimated on this self-produced gem – and hids vocals are on point too.

His back catalogue is well worth checking out…
