Matt Goss: Better With You – Pop Banger Video…

Matt Goss shares new video to his latest track, “Better With You”, a few days before the release of his new album “The Beautiful Unknown”. Loyal fans from back in the day may well recognise the leather jacket he wears in the video – which became a regular item of clothing he wore during the Bros era.

The contemporary, high energy video is directed by Matt, and incorporates dance, live band performance and BMX/skateboard, along with pop culture imagery.

The self-penned power pop single sounds like a chart hit waiting to happen….inspired by Matt’s love of 80’s pop music and 80s melodies. Aiming to lift people’s spirits with a feel-good track, after the last two years of Covid and lockdown stress.

It was six months into the pandemic when Matt got back to his first love: songwriting. Early on, Matt had a title for this new collection of songs that were pouring out of him: “The Beautiful Unknown”, came from the poetry Matt writes away from his music.

Explaining the phrase, he says: “We have been conditioned to fear tomorrow, to fear next week, to be fearful of next year certainly. Because there is this unknown energy around all of us – no time more than now. And I’ve been through the ringer during Covid. Betrayed by some people, uplifted by others. So,’ ‘The Beautiful Unknown’ is a request to people to come along with this philosophy that tomorrow is going to be a good day and a good place.”

Produced at the famed Record Plant in L.A., with additional recording in Nashville, the album stemmed from the song “Shipwreck”, which  Matt wrote at 3am on day and the next night, and he called artist Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, who loved the track and invited Matt to his L.A. studio to record it. That note of encouragement from “Babyface”, a mega-producer , kick started a new burst of creativity for Matt.

He also began collaborating with Jacob Bunton, the Emmy-winning songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, who has  worked with everyone from Mariah Carey to Steven Tyler, Smokey Robinson to Akon.

After 10 years and thousands of shows in Vegas, Matt is leaving Las Vegas and has decided to come home to where it all began. He will still be based some of the time in Los Angeles, his home (alongside Las Vegas) for almost three decades.

But his focus looking ahead is more on working and performing in the UK, the place that rocket-powered the teenage Goss to the top of the charts with his brother Luke, cultural phenomenon status and a headline gig at Wembley Stadium – a feat that made Matt the youngest male ever to headline the legendary venue.

Matt is travelling around the UK in March, meeting fans, signing albums and performing some exclusive shows with his band, visiting London, Coventry, Surrey, Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield and Newcastle. Those dates and venues are:

Friday 25th March – HMV Westfield London (signing)
