“Wes Banderson: The Music of Wes Anderson” is a unique celebration of the original score music and deep cut needle-drops from the films of Wes Anderson – coming to Manchester, Bristol, London and Birmingham for four special UK shows in September, plus dates in Italy and France
The five-piece ensemble switch between instruments as they move between the soundtracks of “Rushmore”, “The Grand Budapest Hotel2, “The Royal Tenenbaums”, “The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou” [The band will be performing in Team Zissou livery], “Moonrise Kingdom”, “The Darjeeling Limited”, “Fantastic Mr. Fox” and beyond.
The group performs pieces from composers Mark Mothersbaugh, Alexander Desplatt, Sven Libaek, Shankar-Jakishan, Maurice Ravel and more, accompanied by live projected visuals.
Creator/Director Adam Znaidi, [bass player of The Go! Team and co-founder of The Physics House Band], says: “The aim for this show was to make it feel like a ‘gig’, something that anyone could enjoy, even if they weren’t that familiar with Wes Anderson’s films. It gets really loud, it gets really quiet and takes you on a journey through a whole load of genres.”
