The studio craft and stage experience of Iwan Gronow of Johnny Marr’s band, New Order’s bassist, Tom Chapman and guitarist, Phil Cunningham, Section 25’s Beth Cassidy and drummer, Elliot Barlow, formerly of Brix and The Extricated comes to the fore with “Go To Ground”, the next single from their band Sea Fever.
The next single from their upcoming, second album, “Surface Sound”, was released today [Thurs 17 April 2025] and is described by the band, temptingly, as an “Italo-Manc disco track” combining influences including Giorgio Moroder and the dancefloor sounds leaking onto the rainy streets of their Manchester home.
Sea Fever have confirmed their first festival date of 2025, appearing at Kendal Calling, as well as a hometown album launch date in May. [See all live dates at bottom of page.]
The album, to be released on Fri 30th May 2025 via emergent Manchester indie, Cosmic Glue, has been self-produced by Sea Fever with support from long-term collaborator and Pet Shop Boys’ musical director, Pete Gleadall.
Special vinyl editions of “Surface Sound” will be packaged with a bonus 7” featuring “Explanation”, Sea Fever’s collaborative track with the late, much-missed Primal Scream and Electronic singer Denise Johnson.
