Irish rising stars NewDad follow-up “the beauty and bite” of debut album “Madra” – which made the Galway band one of the biggest new hopes around – with the release of their new four-track EP “Safe” on 2nd May 2025, including on vinyl in a limited edition of 1000 copies.
Expect the set to offer up their core shoegaze/dream-pop sound elevated with a swaggering new self-confidence, a tight, masterly control of hooks, and broader touch points such as Pavement and Sonic Youth. Their songs – “Entertainer”, “Safe”, “Puzzle” and “Be Kind” are said to be “simply a leap in sophistication beyond ‘Madra'”.
Bringing a youthful zest to storied influences such as Slowdive, The Cure and Cocteau Twins, their amalgamation of classic ’90s aesthetics attract a diverse and still-growing audience.
After a whirlwind year of unforgettable performances and milestones, NewDad is ready to take on their next big adventure. From Koko, and Glastonbury to Radio 1’s Big Weekend, and even as far as Japan and China, the band’s dynamic live shows have won them many new fans.
