Rising Dublin Stars Really Good Time Back With Pension Fund…

Really Good Time £

We said back in May: “Really Good Time are probably the next big band to come out of Ireland. A pint or six of the black stuff on it!” – We stand by that comment…

Hot prospect Irish band Really Good Time – who we tipped for big things after their storming sets at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton in May – today [28th August ’24] drop their cracking new track “Pension Fund” and its accompanying video…

“Pension Fund” was born from a joke about striking gold with a catchy riff, it speaks to a generation caught between dreams and reality under late-stage capitalism, trying to be “a real grown up… in mouldy bedrooms”.

Really Good Time from Dublin is a band of friends, meeting many years ago while sharing small stages and warm beer, playing with different acts within Dublin’s close-knit music scene.

Since then, they have sold out headlines in Dublin, independently toured the UK, and built a loyal following around a live show and a string of singles and videos.

Last winter, RGT released their debut EP “Escape From the Mountain Of Spit”. This coincided with the band taking to larger stages at home and abroad with prominent festival slots and supports for the likes of Franz Ferdinand, The Murder Capital, and The Scratch.

Their single “Retreat to the Cubicle” began 2024 for the boys, followed by the 10-minute “The Dread Sorcerer Peterson” and performances across the UK, including full houses and queues around the block at The Great Escape.

  • Really Good Time have an with an Autumn tour of the UK and Ireland lined up [dates TBA] and a bunch of festival appearances, including: Thurs 17th Oct – Left of the Dial Festival, Rotterdam, Fri 18th Oct – Left of the Dial Festival, Rotterdam and Sat 9th Nov – Mutations Festival, Brighton.
