Robin Trower, Maxi Priest, Livingstone Brown “United State Of Mind” Video Released…

Robin Trower, Maxi Priest and Livingstone Brown are a a triple threat with their new track “United State Of Mind” – the title of their incoming album out on 9th October 2020 via Manhaton Records.

The official video just released (9th September 2020).

After a chance meeting in Livingstone Brown’s studio in Brixton, London, this unlikely trio hit it off.  All directly influenced by soul and gospel music, they have a deep appreciation for music and share a passion for all genres.

Singer/songwriter Maxi Priest, perhaps best known for “Close To You”, “Wild World” and the album “Bonafide. Ace guitarist Robin Trower, former member of Procol Harum and celebrated for his stunning 1974 commercial break through solo album “Bridge of Sighs” – often labelled the UK’s answer to Jimi Hendrix.

Producer/mix engineer and musician Livingstone Brown has worked with the likes of  Tina Turner, Kylie Minogue, Corrine Bailey Rae, The Waterboys, Bill Withers, Ed Sheeran, The Climax Blues Band, Bryan Ferry, David Grant, Yazz, De La Soul and Bill Withers.

Robin & Maxi were born just two miles apart in London; Robin in Catford and Maxi in Lewisham. From these humble beginnings, both went on to enjoy glittering world-wide careers.

Maxi Priest has been a pioneer for the UK by achieving several top ten hits at home and worldwide, including the US Billboard charts. He’s had numerous number one hits and has also received multiple Grammy nominations, selling millions of records across the world.

Not a stranger to duets and crossing genres, Maxi and Roberta Flack’s timeless classic “Set The Night To Music” achieved top 10 status on three of Billboard’s charts. He fronted UB40 for a short time.

Robin Trower’s album “Bridge Of Sighs” has sold millions of units worldwide. Trower’s passionate guitar playing has influenced so many young people to pick up a guitar and learn to play. In the 90s, Livingstone Brown played in Robin’s band and co-produced Robin’s highly rated “20th Century Blues Album”.

So, when Livingston half-jokingly suggested, “why don’t we write a song together?”, Robin and Maxi looked at each other and said, “why not?”. If you’re a multi-million selling award winning artist who’s been there and very much done it, why not try something totally different…

Robin, Livingstone and Maxi went even further, striking up a very productive joint song writing partnership, that quickly developed  into a “United State of Mind”. Each song showcased Maxi’s trademark silky soulful vocal tone, and of course Robin’s soulful and passionate playing, along with Livingstone’s “Midas touch’.

Their efforts are neither reggae or rock. The results: a commercial sounding, ‘driving album’.

As a session and touring musician during the 80s and 90s, Livingstone worked with artists such as Robin Trower, Maxi Priest, Ed Sheeran, The Waterboys, The Climax Blues Band, Tina Turner, Bryan Ferry, Kylie Minogue, David Grant, Yazz, De La Soul, ABC and Bill Withers.
