Canada’s Michael Bernard Fitzgerald: I Love That Sound!

Canadian singer-songwriter Michael Bernard Fitzgerald delivers his lovely new single “I Love That Sound”, complete with a simple video shot by a tranquil lake – and a solitary bird for company who added his (or her) backing vocals to the song!

The song is from Michael’s incoming fifth album “Love Valley”, due for release in October 2020.

This year during ‘lockdown’, Michael created a unique take on live concerts. He will embark on a Canada-wide tour setting up on private farms and performing intimate concerts in a travelling open-air venue called The Greenbriar.

The Greenbriar is a quaint venue decorated with canvas curtains, a wood floor and antique chairs. As the sun goes down, the space glows with string lights and is limited to five families at a time. The same experience is coming to the UK for Spring 2021.

Michael Bernard Fitzgerald and ‘The Greenbriar’ will finish a Calgary, Canada summer residency (53 Shows) and then will tour Canada for 48 shows in September/October. This will be followed up in the spring with a tour through UK and US April/May/June of 2021.

New single, ‘I Love That Sound’ tells a story of intimacy; detailing “the sound of a dress sliding off a loved one’s body and landing on the ground skinny-dipping after dinner at the end of a long day”.

Kacey Musgraves’ pedal steel player, Brett Resnik adds some magic on the track. Josh Rob Gwilliam and Michael produced the track and the new album – first record Michael has penned on his own since his very early recordings.

Michael has spent more than a decade working with labels, creating songs with top-tier L.A. songwriters and producers including Jone Levine (Drake, Dua Lipa), Brian West (Maroon 5, K’naan), and Dennis Herring (Ra Ra Riot, Modest Mouse) and spending some time in the charts with ‘I Wanna Make it With You’ (2016) and ‘One Love (2016),.

He has toured across Canada and around the world sharing the stage with artists such as Bryan Adams, Ben Harper, Dan Mangan, Sam Roberts, Joel Plaskett, and Kings of Leon. Now he has returned to his hometown of Calgary, Alberta to create his latest set of songs and make his new album.
