He’s at it again…Our man Sheldon was sober enough to be out and about with camera (s) in hand again last night, to catch red hot UK synth pop trio Years & Years in the act at a sold-out Arena Birmingham, so we can bring you some sparkling pictorial proof of their on-stage shenanigans.
Spectacular stage production, great lighting and sound. Fabulous dancers, ace band and lead singer Olly Alexander totally smashed it. What a voice! What a performer!
The 28-year-old had enough energy to power the West Midland’s total leccie output for the night! The 3,000+ fans in attendance loudly let it be known they appreciated the effort…(Support was from Norwegian artist Astrid S).
Since their breakthrough in 2015, Years & Years get better and better; on fire right now in their career, and will get even bigger over the next few years and years (see what we did then?)
Their second album “Palo Santo” dropped in July – not a duff track on it. Joining Olly and multi-instrumentalists Mikey Goldsworthy and Emre Türkmen, collaborators on the record include Kid Harpoon, Greg Kurstin, Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter, Steve Mac, Jessie Shatkin and Sarah Hudson.
If you can grab a ticket, go see Years & Years on the rest of the Palo Santo World Tour. You are guaranteed circa 80 minutes of pure pop heaven and witness to one of the best front-men of any band on the planet. Here are the five remaining dates:
2nd Dec: Manchester, 4th Dec: Brighton, 5th Dec: 02 Arena, London. January 21st & 22nd: Olympia, Dublin. (Also just announced: Soundscape Weekender, Ricoh Stadium, Coventry, June 16th 2019).
