London trio Cortes have unveiled the video for their third single ‘Facing My Fear’, out now.
The new track follows the band’s two previous critically acclaimed singles ‘Towers’ and ‘Close To Nowhere’, both of which received support from Annie Mac at BBC Radio 1. The band is Andy Cortes (Vocals/Guitar) | Sam Davis (Bass) | Marijus Aleksa (Drums).
Following Cortes’ recent UK tour with Sunset Sons the video documents life on the road for the London 3-piece as they performed to their biggest audiences yet, winning over scores of new fans with their captivating live show.
With ‘Facing My Fear’ being only the band’s third single, as well as support at national radio and an extremely impressive feat of three quarters of a million combined streams to date, Cortes are a band on fire, set to blaze a trail well into the new year with the release of their debut EP.
Andy hailing from London, Sam from Devon and Marijus from Vilnius, Lithuania, set about writing and rehearsing a blistering set of groove-laden indie rock tunes. In late 2013 they took to the London stage and immediately started turning heads. Unleashing an early demo of ‘Facing My Fear’ online in 2014 the track found its way to Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1 who played it describing the band as “certainly better than good”.
Before too long – and with no formal release in place, no Facebook fans and no Twitter followers – Cortes had themselves radio play and a major publishing deal. No mean feat for a brand new band, and testament to the electricity the band channel with their recorded output and explosive live show.
