On September 24th 2020, singer-songwriter and self-described “cancer thriver” Rachael Sage will bring together a powerful group of performers for a great cause.
“Bravery On Fire: A Benefit for Women’s Cancer Awareness”: The virtual event will raise funds for Foundation For Women’s Cancer, and feature a variety of performers including Grammy winners Paula Cole and Lisa Loeb, Latin Grammy winner Gaby Moreno, Tony-nominated Broadway actors Megan Hilty and Alison Pill.
Plus, musicians Jill Sobule, Kyshona, Grace Pettis, and Heather Mae & Crys Matthews, Grace Kelly, Toby Lightman, Fiona Harte, dancer Abigail Simon and more.
September is Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month, and Sage – who is in remission from uterine cancer – felt it was more important than ever to shine a light on these cancers that affect so many women, but receive relatively little public attention or research funding.
Sage explains, “Every 5 minutes we lose a woman to gynecological cancer, and it concerns me that women and their loved ones are often embarrassed to even discuss it.
“Before my diagnosis, I was completely uninformed about how wide-reaching these cancers are, across all demographics and worldwide.”
Via this event, Sage hopes to bring awareness to Women’s Cancer in general, specifically highlighting prevention, early detection, and research.
