Evanescence have launched a brand-new performance video for their track “Afterlife”. The video was Directed by Jason Lester and produced by Dreambear.
“Afterlife” has been the fastest growing single in the band’s career, with more than six million audio streams, and in excess of five million video views of the lyric video in just its first week.
It is co-written by Alex Seaver of Mako and Evanescence’s Amy Lee and co-produced by Nick Raskulinecz with Alex Seaver and currently features in Netflix’s new animated series “Devil May Cry”, which debuted at# 4 week of release.
The series, a critical darling in the adult animation genre, remains in Netflix’s Global TV Top 10 for the second consecutive week, and was recently renewed for a second season.
The video for “Afterlife” was shot in a historic (and supposedly, haunted) house in Tennessee, and features some Easter eggs that fans of “Devil May Cry” are sure to enjoy.
“Afterlife” is featured in multiple episodes of the animated adaptation of the popular Capcom game, “Devil May Cry”, from the vision of Adi Shankar. Sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck.
To date, Evanescence has released a total of five studio albums, including the multi-platinum “The Open Door” (2004) and “Evanescence” (2011), both of which topped the Billboard 200. In 2021, the band thrilled fans with their first album of new material in a decade, “The Bitter Truth.”
Featuring a line-up of Amy Lee (vocals, keyboards), Tim McCord (guitar), Will Hunt (drums), Troy McLawhorn (guitars), and Emma Anzai (bass, backing vocals), the band continues to travel the globe, staging some of the most successful shows of their career, having just wrapped a run of sold out shows in Latin America, including Allianz Parque, a soccer stadium in Sāo Paulo, Brazil, which was the biggest headline show of Evanescence’s career to date, drawing 40,000 fans.
While Evanescence is primarily focused on creating new music this year, they also have some exciting performances planned for 2025, which include dates with My Chemical Romance, Metallica, and Halsey.
