First UK dates in decades for cult garage rock favourites, New York legends The Chesterfield Kings. Hailing from Rochester, New York, The Chesterfield Kings formed in the late 1970s, heavily mining the sounds of 1960s music from The Rolling Stones to acoustic blues.
An instrumental spark in the 1980s garage band revival, The Chesterfield Kings went on to record 11 albums and 15 singles, toured globally and performed live on television shows such as Jimmy Kimmel Live, Late Night with Conan O’Brien and made an appearance as themselves on the HBO hit show The Sopranos.
The Chesterfield Kings went on hiatus in 2009, but are back with newly recorded music and their first live performances in more than 15 years.
At one of their recent shows in March 2024, while introducing the band on stage, E Street band icon Steven Van Zandt proclaimed: “Back in the 80’s, music was getting a little slick with all the hair metal bands all over MTV. Things were staring to drift away from traditional rock and roll and a new genre was born at that time called garage rock. The Chesterfield Kings are the guys who invented it”.
Special guests on the UK tour: The Len Price 3 are a high-energy garage combo from the Medway delta: Glenn Page on guitar and vocals, Steve Huggins on bass and Neil Fromow on drums. They signed with Wicked Cool Records in 2006.
