Brighton & Hove Pride’s Fabuloso on Preston park. Day # two. Perfect weather again. Jam packed full for the second day. After a triumphant UK festival exclusive from Girls Aloud headlining Saturday, how do you follow that? Well in fine style with the unique MIKA, that’s how.
If that were not enough, S Club – in custom Pride outfits – Gabrielle and more join in the fun and supply the great music…
MIKA provided a high energy set of 14 songs – full setlist can be seen further down the page – [There were two more printed on the setlist sheets: “Elle Me Dit” and “Any Other World”, but these were not played due to time constraints], including all his smash hits.
Saturday’s headliners Girls Aloud delivered 21 songs in their set. But it is all about quality not quantity, and there was no issue there across both days from any of the artists booked.

Some of the worlds biggest superstars have graced the Brighton Pride stages including Christina Aguilera, Black Eyed Peas, Steps, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Grace Jones, Nile Rodgers & Chic, Dua Lipa, Jessie J, Clean Bandit, Jess Glynne, Emeli Sandé, , Ella Eyre, Paloma Faith, Sister Sledge, Anne-Marie, Carly Rae Jepsen, Pet Shop Boys, Years & Years, Fatboy Slim, The Human League, Boy George and many more…
Over on the Noughty 90’s Festival Stage were a slew of superb retro acts, including Alison Limerick, K-Klass, DJ Dave Pearce, Livin’ Joy and Rozalla.
Brighton Pride is the biggest in the UK and has raised more than £1.3million for the Brighton Rainbow Fund, the Pride Social Impact Fund, Pride Cultural Development Fund and Pride Solidarity Fund. The Brighton Rainbow Fund has a remit to receive donations and to use them to give grants to LGBT and HIV groups and organisations in Brighton and Hove. The Pride Social Impact Fund benefits local good causes giving grants to a range of local groups.
The theme of this year’s Pride in Brighton is “Joy – Celebrating Life. Spirit. Resilience”. Joy would ably sum up how the many thousands felt who were attending Fabuloso across the weekend.
Making his Brighton Pride debut this year, Sunday headliner MIKA promised a kaleidoscopic extravaganza to close Fabuloso on Sunday evening. He sure did deliver. His show featured a giant inflatable rainbow, and Mika walking through the audience during one song.
Showering the crowd with hits such as “Grace Kelly”, “Love Today”, “Lollipop”, “Big Girl (You are Beautiful)”, “Happy Ending”, “Relax” and “Take It Easy’, a suitably standout performance to close what was a spectacular two day celebration – stark contrast to the violent civil war-type scenes around the UK.Bravo Fabuloso. Bravo Brighton & Hove Pride 2024. To borrow a phrase you’ll hear in the Punch and Judy show on the sea front: “That’s the way to do it!”
