We tip UK newcomer Nahli for big things….and Big Narstie thinks so too, with a guest spot on her fab new single “Catch 22”, and in the official video. Bloody love her voice….
The old-skool UK Garage inspired track has just dropped on Independent label and studio, Rebel Records, their debut release. Way to go…The track is a banger and this gal is fiyah! Tellin’ ya!
Hailing from Essex, with both parents professional singers, Nahli is now living in East London.
A talented pop-soul singer and songwriter on a red hot cut mixed by MSM (Drake, Skepta, Wretch 32) and produced by long-term collaborator DaVinche. Her follow-up to 2019’s debut EP “Therapy [Side A]”.
Nahli previously featured on Professor Green’s “Bad Decisions”, Conducta’s “Only U” and Crystal Fighters “Costa Rica”. She was also invited to collaborate and tour in front of thousands of people across Europe with SIGMA.
On linking up for the track, Big Narstie doesn’t hold back: “I love this tune. It has that old-skool feeling what makes you wanna skank. It’s got a beautiful vocal from Nahli with a hard beat from DaVinche.
“I can’t wait to perform this one when we get back to the live shows. Also, it was a big pleasure being part of the first Rebel Records release”.
On the bittersweet inspiration behind the song, Nahli explains: “Catch 22 is about being stuck in that weird middle ground of not being together in a relationship, but being ‘exclusive’. But you don’t actually know if they’re matching your exclusivity.
“This generation is nuts for that. But you can’t stop the cycle because the toxicity is addictive. It’s kinda hot. So…you don’t know whether to leave or whether to stay. Catch 22”.
“Catch 22” is the first track to be taken from the rising singer-songwriter’s forthcoming EP, which will drop in 2021. Can’t wait…
